It is a romantic comedy. That is all I'm gonna say. I finish filming tonight. urn:lj:livejournal.com:atom1:azfilmmaker:1147 2007-08-22T15:04:52Z 2007-08-22T15:29:22Z <font size="2"><p>Idea</p><p>Ever since I saw The Blair Witch Project I realized I don’t need to spend millions of dollars to make a movie I could film in ‘documentary’ style. For a while I’ve wanted to make a film like Blair Witch but never really knew what it should be about. I finally one day came up with the idea that it should be with zombies. Usually when I write my (very ghetto not really well written) scripts I usually first think of ‘ok who/what locations do I have to work with?’ then I go on from there. Ever since I made Annihilate I’ve had people ask me if they could be in my next film. I thought this would be the perfect film for that because it would need quite a few people. Another thing that I tend to do when coming up with ideas is that I will come up with a quote or a scene and dwell on it for a while and say ok I want/need this in the film this has to be in it. And then from there, being that scene or quote, I then think up the rest of the film. In this case it was the sex scene. Which I actually came up with the idea while I was at work one day. I had made a video the day before (which involved fake blood around my mouth) I didn’t really get it all the way clean and I ended up having a light red stain around my mouth. I kept picturing someone with blood around there mouth which lead to thinking about zombies which some how lead to someone being eaten out and presto there is the scene. So the whole rest of the day I was thinking about that then I was thinking how could I use that in a film, then I came up with the party idea. I went home and started typing up a few ideas, that scene being the main idea sort of. I then showed it to Jessica whom then helped me come up with the rest of it.</p><p>Script</p><p>My scripts are usually really crappy because I don’t really like writing in script format. This movie, to make it seem more realistic, was not scripted at all, meaning no lines what so ever. There were actually 2 scripted parts. The first was ‘what kind of crack ass neighborhood…’ which Jessica came up with. And the news report, which JJ wrote (thanks!) because my mind was totally blank that day. </p><p>Filming</p><p>We were going to all go to Jessica’s around 6ish to do a runt through and find out who does what. Come to find out 4 people ended up not showing, 2 important people the ones who were supposed to do the sex scene. Another didn’t show cuz he had to work at 5 am and another for some other reason. Then we find out that the electricity in her apt was shut off! But you always get something good out of something bad so…we ended up getting to use another apt! Because her electricity was off the apt people said she could have another apt for the night. It was furnished, had a tv, bed, couch and so on. We did a few run throughs and finally started filming around 8 or so. It ended up taking about 5 or so hours to do the run throughs and everything. Originally the film was supposed to be one full scene with out the camera being shut off. The battery ended up dying the first time and then the 2^nd time the camera ran out of memory and shut off. </p><p>Outcome</p><p>I think the total cost of this film ended up being less than $20. Basically all I had to buy was the food and drinks because we had everything else. I’m kinda glad that we got to use that other apt because that’s probably the only time we will get to use it and it makes the film different, Because originally it was supposed to be in Jes’s apt which was the same we used in Annihilate, so that worked out good. Even though after filming we had to clean up the blood off the window and walls. Luckily someone had Tide to Go to clean up the carpet. </p><p>Thank Yous</p><p>First off I’d like to thank Sarah, Mercy, Mike, Katie, Jessica, Rew, Chris and Ashley for spending 5 or so hours just to film a short 15 minutes or less film. Also for being covered in blood and other make up crap and working for free (well you technically got paid with food and drink lol)</p><p>Melinda Kruger thank you so much for filming the news part it turned out awesome (even though its probably hard to hear in the film)</p><p>JJ thank you for writing the news part, Seriously my mind was not working at all that day.</p><p>The broken circuit breaker at Jes’s apt and TEP for not being able to fix it until the next day because if it wasn’t for that we wouldn’t have gotten the awesome apartment to film in.</p><p>Fry’s because that’s where I got the food.</p><p>The Cress’s for the gift certificate that you got me for Christmas, because it went towards getting my camera and with out it I wouldn’t be able to be making these awesome films.&nbsp;<br /><br />And of course the dictionary/thesaurus because that is how I come up with the titles for my films</p><p>&nbsp;</p></font> urn:lj:livejournal.com:atom1:azfilmmaker:1021 2007-08-21T18:49:03Z 2007-08-21T18:49:03Z In about 6 hours I start filming. I'm so excited. I couldnt sleep last night and when I finally got to sleep around 1 am I ended up waking at 7 and have been up since. I caint wait. Its gonna be awsome! I thought about making a website but I didn't want to go through all that work, LJs are easier to make. I will use this to post things about my movies. I am currently working on a zombie film that I will start filming on tuesday. yay!
